The subscription trap
Software-as-a-service made sense for a while. But somewhere along the way, "pay monthly" turned into "pay monthly forever, for everything." The problems pile up:
- You never stop paying. Cancel, and the thing you built your workflow around simply switches off.
- You do not own your data. It lives on someone else's server, under someone else's terms, and leaves with them if they shut down.

- You cannot truly customise it. You get what the vendor decides, when they decide it.
The hub model: buy once, own it, run it yourself
